3 arrested for drug possession after search and seizure

Three individuals were recently arrested after police executed a search warrant for narcotics at a residence in Manatee County. The individuals arrested on a recent Thursday were a man and two teens. When Florida residents face drug possession charges, they typically choose to consult an experienced criminal defense attorney.

The arrests took place in Bradenton and were made by the Bradenton Police Department. The department’s Gang Unit, Narcotics Unit and SWAT team worked in conjunction to execute the arrests. Over 36 grams of cocaine, nearly 116 grams of marijuana, almost one gram of heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia were recovered from the residence, the Brandenton Police Department said.

Those arrested were a 36 year-old Bradenton man, as well as two 17-year-old Bradenton juveniles, the authorities said. As SWAT approached, the two juveniles were located in a vehicle that was parked on the property. One juvenile apparently fled the scene on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter, while the second complied with SWAT, police said. Inside the residence, the man was located and arrested.

In Florida criminal proceedings, the prosecution will have the burden of proving the drug possession charges beyond a reasonable doubt. The seriousness of the allegations that these three individuals face mandate that each defendant focus on the specifics of the charges alongside their separate legal counsel. The nature of the procedures employed by law enforcement officers before and after the arrests warrant careful scrutiny. Moreover, the specific location of the drugs may also play an important role in the defense strategy of each accused individual.
