2 Florida men taken into custody on drug sales charges

Two Florida men were recently taken into custody after police completed a months-long investigation. The men face drug charges relating to alleged drug sales. They were also under investigation on allegations of prostitution, which local business owners and residents had been complaining about.

The men were arrested on a recent Wednesday in Titusville. Inside the property, where police executed their search warrant, authorities allegedly found drug paraphernalia and cocaine. A 63-year-old man was taken into custody on charges of cocaine sales. He was further accused of completing the drug sales within 1,000 feet of a church.

The other individual, a 52-year-old man, was taken into custody on charges of cocaine possession with the intention to sell. He was further charged with two counts of cocaine sales. The men were booked at the jailhouse in Brevard County. The 63-year-old was being held with his bond set at $30,000, and the 52-year-old was being held without the option of bond as of June 5.

Drug sales charges come with the threat of serious consequences in the state of Florida for any individual who is actually convicted of the crimes. The severity and/or length of potential punishments may be affected by the type of drug at issue in the case, the quantity of the drug allegedly found by police and the accused individual’s past criminal background. By analyzing all of these factors carefully, as well as the unique laws and statutes that come into play, an accused individual will be able to plan a criminal defense strategy that is tailored to his or her unique situation.
