Florida man with trucking company accused of drug trafficking

Law enforcement authorities have accused a Florida man of hauling drugs with his trucking business. He was recently arrested. The man allegedly hauled thousands of pounds of drugs, including marijuana and cocaine, in addition to legal merchandise. He is now facing a drug trafficking charge.

The authorities believe that he hauled his cargo from Orlando to Central Florida all the way from the West Coast. They arrested the 39-year-old man, who is the president of P&T Transportation Corp., on a recent Friday in early August. The arrest was the result of a two-year investigation.

The man’s company allegedly imported large amounts of cannabis and cocaine — reportedly hundreds of pounds and kilos each month. He is suspected of trafficking cannabis, in excess of 400 grams of cocaine and 1,500 oxycodone pills. Authorities believe the drugs were picked up in either California or Colorado, transported alongside legal merchandise, then unloaded in Central Florida, where they were then divided into smaller portions and distributed to both dealers and users.

Being charged with a crime such a drug trafficking, though serious, is actually nothing more than a formal accusation. He will remain innocent in the eyes of the law unless and until prosecutors can prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a Florida criminal court. A drug trafficking conviction could result in severe penalties, including substantial fines and lengthy prison sentences. An individual accused of such a crime typically consults experienced legal counsel to protect one’s interests and fight for the best possible result.
