A former pro athlete is facing charges for selling drugs

The former National Football League player Reche Caldwell is facing charges after he was arrested for the intention of selling drugs. This is not the first time that Caldwell has faced legal issues. At the time of his arrest, he was supposedly found with over 4 pounds of ecstasy. Law enforcement believed that he was intending on selling drugs, but it is often difficult to prove the intent of a defendant.

Officially, Mr. Caldwell was charged with possession of illegal drugs and intent to distribute, which is a third-degree felony in the state of Florida. The drugs came to the attention of local law enforcement after he accepted a package from the postal service that allegedly contained several pounds of drugs, which is estimated to have a street value of $60,000. Law enforcement has not indicated if the package delivery was planned by Mr. Caldwell or if they have evidence proving he ordered the package.

The former football star also faced legal trouble earlier this year in Florida when he was charged for allegedly running an illegal gambling operation. The two cases are apparently not connected. The defendant has the right to a defense and pursue an outcome that is in his personal interests. He has every right to contest the charges and challenge the evidence upon which they are based.

A complicated legal past should never prevent an individual from exercising his or her rights under the law. In this case, Reche Caldwell has not been convicted of any crimes, including that of possessing or selling drugs. The burden of proof lies with the prosecution, and Mr. Caldwell is completely within his rights to dispute these charges in court.
