Florida men accused of drug sales and other crimes

Four Florida men are in jail after being arrested recently. The men face criminal accusations including drug sales related crimes. The arrests and events that led up to them happened in Clay County.

According to Florida officials they learned about the alleged drug sales operations being committed by the men as a result of a traffic stop. The stop happened in south Florida and led officials to seek a warrant to enter the Clay County property. Once there, they say they found several former foreclosed trailers that had been purchased and altered for use as locations for marijuana growth.

In total, officials say that they found 78 marijuana plants in three rooms and a shed. In addition, they discovered, they say, operations for drug sales such as cash, heat lamps and an alleged illegal tap of electricity from Clay Electric Cooperative. These discoveries are what led to the recent arrests.

Now the accused men face the need to defend themselves against the drug sales and other criminal claims. Such efforts are allowed because all who stand accused in Florida and elsewhere have fundamental rights to a defense. This defense will likely include the questioning of all aspects of the arrests, including the traffic stop that led to the initial suspicion that a marijuana growing operation existed in Clay County. The good news for the men in this case, and others in similar situations, is that defense efforts can help an accused individual avoid many of the most difficult penalties that they face.
