Drug possession charges waged against Florida school principal

A Florida elementary school principal has been reassigned to a position that does not deal with children after being arrested recently. The Kissimmee man was charged with drug possession and delivery of drugs and the possession of drug paraphernalia. The accusations came after police obtained a search warrant based on complaints of drug activity occurring at the principal's house.

Authorities assert that the principal offered methamphetamine and GHB, known as liquid ecstasy, to undercover drug agents. The undercover agents were at the home of the principal at the time he was arrested. After the arrest, police say they found numerous drugs and paraphernalia in the home, leading to the drug possession charges.

The principal was taken to Florida's Osceola County Jail and was being held on $18,750 bond. In addition, the school district for which he works has removed him from his principal position and is conducting its own investigation into the accusations. Prior to this incident, the man in this matter had no previous record for disciplinary actions from his employer.

The drug possession charges that the principal faces could have significant penalties if he were to be convicted. However, it is important to note that he, like all others accused of crimes in Florida, is presumed innocent of all allegations. In addition, he will be able to present a full defense to the charges when he is called to court for the accusations. This defense may include questions regarding all aspects of the allegations and the incidents surrounding his arrest.
