2 high school coaches accused: Each to face a federal drug charge

Two Florida high school football coaches were arrested recently in Orlando. The Titusville High coaches were arrested on a recent Wednesday in June, each on a federal drug charge for drug conspiracy. The men were specifically charged with both conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute, according to federal investigators.

Both coaches, one a 40-year-old Titusville resident and the other, a 36-year-old Mims man might face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. The authorities claim that the older coach lead the drug operation, which involved distributing various drugs through several dealers. One of the drugs that was allegedly distributed was a prescription drug known as fentanyl, which is reportedly 100 times stronger than heroin.

Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration reportedly began gathering intelligence on the older coach in January 2015, after they had received a complaint. Authorities say that he sold heroin to one of their informants, while the other coach sold both prescription pills as well as cocaine to another informant. The older coach reportedly entered a residence to perform a heroin transaction worth $450 with an undercover agent.

Most people who need a criminal defense attorney in Florida never dreamed that they would. Often, people who have been arrested and charged with a crime are ordinary citizens who found themselves in a difficult situation and ended up getting arrested. Every case is unique and has its own set of facts and circumstances. Every person who has been arrested on a federal drug charge will benefit by retaining a seasoned criminal defense attorney.
